KMW supports young leaders of the future through university scholarships and funding
KMW has been providing support for programs nurturing leaders of the future as a way to fulfill corporate social responsibility.
On May 19, 2008, KMW donated 200,000 shares worth 4 billion won to Sogang University Development Fund. Sogang University told the contribution will be used for various initiatives including creation of Duk-Yong Kim Scholarship, faculty invitation, and Sogang Future Technology Cluster Fund.
KMW had already invested 2 billion won for the establishment of Sogang Institute of Advanced Technology (SIAT) which opened in March 2008, and transferred the rights to use the company’s patents for antenna technology at no cost, allowing the university to commercialize the technology.
KMW Chairman and CEO Duk-Yong Kim said, “As a former recipient of Yong-Soo Yuk Scholarship in college, I told myself that I would one day give back to the community what I received. So I believe that for a startup venture like us, the best way to do so is to support and nurture outstanding young talents of the next generation.”
